Motivation

Why I do this.

A walk through a beech stand — where thinking in long time spans begins.

In forestry, you plan in decades. AI changes work in months. I want to find out how the two fit together.

  1. 2013

    My first publication was about lichens in Bavaria's natural forest reserves. Look closely before you judge — that is what the forest taught me.

  2. 2017/2018

    I co-founded two companies: nurINpur, an organic food retailer, and Nature Consulting for nature conservation, climate protection and environmental education.

  3. 2019

    At inas in Ingolstadt I led software projects for sustainability and the circular economy. That is where it clicked: good tools often move more than good intentions.

  4. 2025

    Since then I have supported companies with sustainability reporting and assurance. Evenings and weekends I build apps, because I prefer trying ideas out.
